The physics goals of the next generation of neutrino oscillation experiments simply cannot be reached without considerable developments in the areas of systematic uncertainties and statistical data analysis methods. These issues might get solved eventually, even without coordination, but at a considerable risk of delaying the physics output of the next generation of experiments. This workshop will ensure that the international community has a clear picture of the most important open issues and potential solutions. This will considerably speed up the development of these solutions and help to prevent delays in the production of physics results by the new experiments.
