Description
Interpreting LHC measurements requires control over QCD radiation off energetic partons. Over the past few years, it has become increasingly clear that the structure of QCD radiation at hadron colliders is much richer than at lepton colliders. This is due to Glauber effects, which break color coherence and soft-collinear factorization. This induces leading logarithmic corrections not captured by conventional parton showers based on the large-Nc limit. I will give an overview of these effects, show how they can be accounted for in factorization theorems, and discuss a mechanism that restores PDF factorization at low scales.
